Registrar's Resources

As a Association's Registrar, your a key part in a Community Sport, and a important role to your Association!
Thank you for your time and effort!

The information below is a guideline in helping you for the upcoming season.

As a registrar for a CDMFA member association, you will have access to sensitive database operations in the CDMFA.  You are bound to keep all personal information in the CDMFA database protected according to the personal information privacy legislation.  Please do not disclose your passwords to the site, and protect all registration information stored offline.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • As registrar for your association, you are responsible for maintaining an accurate registration of players, coaches and on field staff to the CDMFA and supply this information, in its original form at any time when requested or specified by the league.
  • You are responsible to read, understand and adhere to all rules, policies and procedures of the CDMFA.
  • You also have to report this information to the CDMFA for insurance purposes.
  • The CDMFA will then provide the information to Football Alberta and purchase insurance services. This information is written from the perspective of association requirements to the CDMFA, though your role within your own organization may vary.

CDMFA and Football Alberta

The Capital District Minor Football Association (CDMFA) is a Registered Society whose members participate in the league in order to facilitate the opportunity for associations to play each other in the spirit of friendly competition.  Some of our member associations only operate a single team, whereas others operate many different teams at all levels.  The CDMFA operates our league under the umbrella of the governing body, Football Alberta.

Football Alberta is the Provincial Sport Governing Body for all amateur football in Alberta.

  • They set and enforce rules, provide programs and a variety of services (i.e. insurance) to over 400 teams and 12,000 players, coaches, officials and volunteers.
  • In addition to this, Football Alberta provides newsletters, directories, policies, rule books, resource handbooks, manuals and an active website for the Alberta Football Community.

Please ensure all players/staff are registered in the RAMP Registration System, and that they MATCH the rosters on the Team Webpages.

Staff will need to have their positions and NCCP numbers entered, as well as uploading their CRC to the system.

If they are staff in two different seasons, they must register for both seasons!

Once this is complete, the next step is for the team managers!

Player Releases

In general, for a player to be eligible for play in the CDMFA the player must conform to the CDMFA eligibility restrictions and must play for the team whose recruitment zone includes the primary residence unless all other teams in that zone have released the player.  Generally, this is not a problem, players play for the team that recruits from their area.  Occasionally, this is not practicable, and you will be asked to 'release' a player to another association or obtain a 'release' for a player coming in to you association.

  • Players may not practice with teams or associations until they are properly registered, including releases.  It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that players are properly released.
  • Any club can release a maximum of 5 players per season, however only 3 of those 5 kids can register for any one club

For more information on Player Releases, please visit these pages * UPDATED info on RELEASE POLICY AND RECRUITMENT ZONES WILL BE ADDED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
